ADUBZY is a news website providing hope during COVID-19. Our focus is on telling stories of the good to help humanity get through this pandemic together.
This is how the journey started…
A few months ago I was living in a busy city and in one day I had a suitcase packed and was heading home to quarantine in South Dakota. Friends and family members were losing their jobs around me and fear of COVID-19 was spreading worldwide.
With all of the bad happening, I wanted to help people find some good during this time. So, I decided to put my design skills to good use at ADUBZY. As a UX/UI designer for the news website, I was able to join the fight against COVID-19 and create an experience that positively impacted society.
My Role
I was tasked with creating three web pages for ADUBZY and helping with the overall design process by conducting user surveys, creating user personas, and refining the designs by making a mood board and style guide.
PROBLEM
The media heavily focuses on the negatives surrounding COVID-19.
SOLUTION
Find a way to provide hopeful yet reliable news that spreads positivity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Defining the User
In order to better understand our users, I conducted a survey and created two user personas based on collected feedback. Research showed that what people wanted most was reliable, simple, and light-hearted news. They wanted to keep informed but not feel weighed down by the information.

Visualizing the Design
A mood board and style guide allowed for cohesive designs that made the jobs of both the designers and developers easier.

Going through Iterations
Wireframing, prototyping and making changes from feedback.
ADUBZY was handed off for launch in 2020.
